CAPTURE
An exhibition at the Belconnen Arts Centre, Canberra from 15 April to 10 May 2015
The exhibition comprised a series of paintings and digital composite works on rag paper, and four soft sculpture figures based on and inspired by my vintage doll collection.
The works featured portraits of dolls and their pets - dolls with birds, dogs and various fictitious characters. These ‘props’ were used to highlight and emphasise the character and quirky personalities of the dolls and add to their emotional value by providing them with friends in strange juxtapositions who sometimes seem uncomfortable in their surroundings.
